Private charter to Manda Island

Lamu's airport is on Manda Island, across a narrow channel from Lamu Old Town and Shela. For guests staying on Manda itself — its beach lodges, private houses and the quieter northern shore — there is no crossing to make before the holiday starts: a boat meets you at the jetty a short walk from the aircraft.

The island is largely undeveloped. Mangrove channels, long empty beaches and the ruins of the Swahili town at Takwa make it an easy base for dhow sailing, fishing and days across the water in Lamu.
