About the Cessna Citation X

The Citation X was built around one idea: speed. A sharply swept wing and two Rolls-Royce AE3007 turbofans give it a cruise close to Mach 0.92, which turns a regional sector into a short hop and puts most of Africa, the Gulf and the Indian Ocean islands within a single fuel stop.

The cabin seats eight in a double-club layout, with an enclosed aft lavatory, a refreshment centre and a cabin wardrobe. It climbs well above commercial traffic and the weather, so long sectors are smoother as well as shorter.

Best suited to

  • Executive travel between Nairobi and regional capitals — Kigali, Kampala, Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam
  • Long sectors to Johannesburg, the Gulf and the Indian Ocean islands
  • Same-day return trips where time on the ground matters more than time in the air
  • Groups of up to eight who need jet speed and paved-runway destinations

Operating notes

The Citation X needs a paved runway of reasonable length, so it does not go into safari airstrips. For an itinerary that ends in the bush we will pair it with a Caravan or helicopter for the final sector, and plan the connection for you.
